A SaaS product team, remote
The product's core value only became clear after three setup steps — and analytics showed most new signups never finished step two.
The brief
The product's core value only became clear after three setup steps — and analytics showed most new signups never finished step two. The team could see the drop-off but had no design capacity to diagnose why or redesign the flow, and didn't want to hire a full-time designer for one flow.
A Product Sprint package started with a structured review of the existing flow and available analytics, followed by a short usability review against the current onboarding. The redesigned flow was wireframed, then built out as a full UI kit so the team's own developers could implement it without further design input on every screen.
The approach
Outcome
Onboarding reduced from three setup steps to one continuous screen
A documented UI kit the team's developers now build new screens from directly
A clear, written usability review the product team could act on beyond the redesign itself
